Dancehall star Vershon has racked up more than 500,000 views for his latest single, Barbie Doll, on the Moskato rhythm for independent label Birchill Music.
“I am really pleased with the success of Barbie Doll, it is taking off overseas as well. In fact, if you check up all the views collectively, it gone close to a million overall, and it ah hold a vibe inna the dancehall,” Vershon said.
He will be releasing a video for the project this week. The video is directed by the talented Dameon Gayle.
Since appearing on Reggae Sumfest during the summer, Vershon has been jetting all over the world to do gigs. He has upcoming shows in St Vincent and the Grenadines, St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, and a two-week tour of the United Kingdom, beginning on November 3. He is booked for shows straight through until February 2017.
The artiste, who began his career in 2014 with the release of Boom, has consistently grown from strength to strength, building an impressive following with hit songs such as Ruff Up Di World, the megahit Inna Real Life, as well as Used to Hungry.
“I am just putting in the work right now to build up a good repertoire of songs,” he said.
Other recent releases include Sexiness, on the Majah Label Music Group; Still Feel, for Voice Out Loud Records; and You Can on the Don Richie Records label.
